ACfPU General Guidelines & Event policies

In this disclaimer,

"ACfPU"	means Association of Chinese Financial Professionals in UK
"Conditions of Use"	means these terms and conditions including any amendments which We may make to them in the future;
"We"/"Our"/"Us"	means ACfPU including executive, supervisory, and advisory committee members;
"Website"	means our Website at http://www.acfpu.org.uk;
"You"/"Your"/"Yourself"	means You, a person who utilises all ACfPU channels;
"ACfPU channels"	means all ACfPU communication channels including our Website, ACfPU registered member database and all our accounts registered on third party networking websites such as Facebook.com.

Events

ACfPU events by and large, particularly our educational sessions, are open to registered members only.
To reiterate Our event allocation policy, We allocate first to registered members 2 weeks in advance, and then distribute to non-registered members 1 week in advance.

Every slot is granted to members on a first come first serve basis. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from a committee member, if a slot is granted. A reminder to all will be sent to you prior to the event.

Event slot is not transferrable under a name different than yours, nor refundable, should a cost incurs. Members are responsible for keeping profile information up-to-date with ACfPU. Please refer to Conditions and Privacy Statement in upcoming sections.

Please understand that under most circumstances We have to notify venue provider and co-organisers in advance and confirm event logistics. Hence, please help us to register by deadline and RSVP method We highlight in Our invites, and understand that most of Our events are strictly capped by a head-count.

Media

Journalists or other media-related personnel will attend Our events periodically. Please be aware that Your opinions do not represent ACfPU, nor, should You wish, Your employer. http://www.acfpu.org.uk/cn/about/pr.html

Membership

Becoming an ACfPU member is easy. Simply download the application form at http://www.acfpu.org.uk/join.html and send it back to contactus@acfpu.org.uk. We handle every membership form case by case, and we guarantee membership confidentiality. For relevant details, please refer to sections below.

ACfPU Information Handling Conditions

As a non-profit organisation serving Chinese financial professionals in UK, ACfPU might use information supplied by You, after receiving Your consent in electronic or written form (including, without limitation, sensitive personal data), to aid an event process and associated functions, including, where ACfPU considers it necessary, only after receiving Your consent in electronic or written form, the disclosure of Your personal and/or contact data to related third parties.

ACfPU considers the security of Your data imperative. Access to Your personal data is only provided to our staffed committee members for one particular project, and (after receiving your consent in electronic or written form) third parties who help us to process data and, in order to help with the events or certain recruitment process from Our affiliated organisations or financial services.

Any policy changes (due to business or legislation changes) will be posted on Website or notified through e-mail. If You wish to remove Your name from Our membership database, please e-mail us directly at operation@acfpu.org.uk with subject “Removal”, this means You will be removed from Our database, You will not receive members-exclusive proprietary and third party events, and You may not receive any general information regarding our proprietary and third party events.

ACfPU is committed to the highest standards of information quality, and every attempt has been made to provide up to date and accurate information. The Data Protection Acts of 1984 and 1998 require us to comply with certain regulations which are designed to ensure that any personal data You provide to us is processed with due care and attention.

Where such period of time as We consider reasonable has elapsed without contact with You, any such personal data and sensitive personal data will be archived or deleted as We consider appropriate.

External links are provided on the ACfPU Channels, to provide users with additional information and resources. ACfPU only points to material it believes to be of a suitable standard but cannot guarantee the quality or accuracy of the information on the sites linked to, nor regarding third-party events. ACfPU may, from time to time, refer to third party events and services from our affiliated organisations or networks, and does not warrant and not responsible for contents, the quality, or availability of third party sites and events.

Any dealings by You with any third party on or through ACfPU Channels, regarding third party events, after data transmission from ACfPU to that third party, are between You and that third party and We are not responsible for any losses or damages that may arise from any such dealings.

By utilising ACfPU Channels You are accepting and consent to be bound by the conditions outlined below:

You are responsible for ensuring that all information which You supply is true, complete, accurate, up-to-date and not misleading or likely to mislead or deceive and that it is not discriminatory, obscene, offensive, defamatory or otherwise illegal, unlawful or in breach of any applicable legislation, regulations, guidelines or codes of practice or the copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property rights of any person in any jurisdiction.
You agree that at Your own reputation risk, You will exercise caution and take care not to breach any provision of Your employment contract and any other contractual obligations You have entered into in respect of Your employment when utilising ACfPU Channels.
ACfPU shall in its sole discretion determine Your compliance with the above and has the right to prevent You from utilising ACfPU Channels without any prior notice.
By utilising ACfPU Channels You are accepting and assuming the risk that the information may be out of date, incomplete, inaccurate or may not meet Your individual requirements.
You will not post or transmit to the Website nor ACfPU Channels any material that contains a virus or disabling services that interfere with the operation of the site or infringe on any intellectual property right of ACfPU, and any third party or that could affect Our reputation or that defames, abuses, harasses or threatens others or encourages any illegal activity.
You understand and acknowledge that career opportunities/assignments advertised via ACfPU Channels will be subject to local recruitment, policy of particular employer, and employment legislation in the country where the job is based.
ACfPU disclaims all liability arising from negligence or otherwise in relation to assisting event process and/or in relation to any information.
ACfPU does not guarantee that an employer, or any third party who has a role in the consultancy process, will offer You a position, invite You for an interview or review Your information posted to or advertised via ACfPU Channels.
ACfPU’s usage of Your personal data is governed by the terms and conditions of ACfPU's privacy policy.

By accepting the conditions, You expressly consent to the disclosures of personal data to third parties and to expand event usage of Your information as detailed in the Privacy Statement below.

ACfPU Privacy Statement

We are committed to protecting the privacy of the information We obtain from You. That information shall be obtained on each occasion that You access the Website and when You apply for or use any product or service featured in the Website or ACfPU Channels. We aim to provide a service which meets Your individual requirements and needs.

By accessing and using the Website and ACfPU Channels You confirm Your consent to ACfPU collecting and using Your information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

A. Third party Websites

You need to be aware that third party Websites which are linked to the Website and/or in ACfPU Channels which You may need to access and Use to obtain any third party products or services featured on the Website and/or in ACfPU Channels may contain privacy provisions that differ from this Privacy Statement. Such third parties may use Your information differently to the way in which We shall Use it.

B. Use of e-mail (including e-mail Alerts)

Given that an e-mail message is sent through a number of computers over which We have no control You need to be aware that any message You send to Us or We send to You may not be secure, any data contained therein may be intercepted by or otherwise become available to a third party and We cannot guarantee the timescales within which We shall receive Your messages or You shall receive Our messages. We do not in any way control the information or materials ("Information") contained in e-mail messages. Nevertheless, We reserve the right (which We may exercise at any time, at Our sole discretion and without notice) to delete, move or edit such information. In sending such Information, You waive any moral rights You may have in it.

C. Security of Your Information

You acknowledge the Internet is not a 100% secure medium for communication and, accordingly, We cannot guarantee the security of any information You send to Us via the Internet. We are not responsible for any damages You, or others, may suffer as a result of the loss of confidentiality of such information.

D. Transmission of information

Your attention is drawn to the fact that information transmitted via the Internet, including without limitation e-mail, is susceptible to monitoring and interception. You are therefore discouraged from transmitting to ACfPU any information, which may be confidential, proprietary or sensitive. You shall bear all risk of transmitting such information in this manner and under no circumstances will ACfPU be liable for any loss, harm or damage suffered by You as a result thereof. ACfPU reserves the right to request independent verification of any information transmitted via e-mail and You consent to such verification should ACfPU deem it necessary.

E. Risk & no liability

Your use of the Website and ACfPU Channels, and the information contained therein is entirely at Your own risk and You assume full responsibility in respect of any loss or damage resulting from the use thereof.

Neither ACfPU, its affiliated organisations, financial services, or their officers, agents, consultants or employees shall be liable for any direct, consequential or indirect loss or damages suffered by a visitor or any other person relating to the use of ACfPU Channels or the information contained therein. You hereby indemnify ACfPU and its suppliers from and against any and all losses, liability, cost or damages suffered or incurred by a visitor or any other person arising out of or in connection with the use of ACfPU Channels or any other Channels which can be accessed from ACfPU, however such loss or liability may occur, and whether such loss or liability is foreseeable, personal, financial, consequential, incidental or otherwise.
