Jonathan Chamberlain will deliver a talk about a book he has recently written – King Hui, The Man Who Owned All the Opium in Hong Kong, which was published by Blacksmith Books in Hong Kong. Peter Hui was a Hong Kong tailor who had in his time been a kung fu fighter, a rich playboy, a gambler who was not always the right side of the law. He was at one time in the employ of the CIA; above all he was an adventurer whose bizarre life tells a fascinating story. We believe it will be a very interesting talk. The lecture will start at 6pm, and will last 40 minutes, and after questions there will be a cash-bar.
