The Story
A non-profit organisation, Association of Chinese Financial Professionals in UK (ACfPU) serves all Chinese working professionals in United Kingdom through unique educational, professional development, & social initiatives.
The idea started with a group of friends in investment banks who graduated from leading institutions in Europe or U.S, in 2006. Most of us has spent a considerate span of our lives in China, however, have set out to study in the West at an earlier stage in life. To certain extent, friction of some kind culturally and ideologically always arises when East meets the West, especially for us, members of Association of Chinese Financial Professionals in UK (ACfPU). At both professional and educational level, we have encountered all sorts of differences and confrontations in such areas as negotiations, meetings, day-to-day management styles, decision-making processes, and even everyday ways of thinking.
This then brought to the creation of a new set of cultural values shared by Association of Chinese Financial Professionals in UK (ACfPU) members - we are fundamentally Chinese. And we tend to intertwine our own destinies with the future of China. We are well-positioned at the meeting point of East and West at a time when the world is integrating with unprecedented momentum from international trade, capital, investment, finance, tourism, migration, information and knowledge. Nevertheless, the world is flat, and Association of Chinese Financial Professionals in UK (ACfPU) intends to provide an international platform via its global database infrastructure but regional oriented events. We stay in touch with each other, no matter where we reside.
